Catherine E. Colacchio of the Town of Newburgh, a retired secretary for the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, and longtime area resident entered into rest Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. Lukes/Cornwall Hospital - Newburgh Campus. She was 82.
The daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Wrobel Curialle, Catherine was born June 4, 1930 in Brooklyn.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, was active in the Newburgh Civic Theatre, sang is choir at St. Patrick's Church, enjoyed bowling and was an avid quitter.
Catherine is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Salvatore Colacchio at home, son Stephen Colacchio and his wife Terri of Essex Jct., Vermont, daughter Vivien Wells of the Town of Newburgh and her partner George Schoonmaker, sister-in-law: Rose Lombardi of the Town of Newburgh, grandchildren: Nicholas Wells, Stephen Colacchio and wife Katherine, Phillip Colacchio and wife Dara, Michael Colacchio and partner Brittani, and Kelly Colacchio, 3 great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by two brothers; Frank and Peter Curialle, a sister Beatrice Corrao, and brother-in-law: Domonick Colacchio.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd., (Rt 32) Newburgh, NY. A Funeral Mass will be offered 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Chapel, Rt. 52. (Orange Lake) Town of Newburgh.
Burial will follow the Mass at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
