Obituary

Mae Laraia, of New Windsor, a retired seamstress for Standish Manufacturing in Brooklyn, NY, entered into rest peacefully, Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Northern Manor in Nanuet, NY. She was 94.

The daughter of the late Stanley and Rose Karmolinski Lewandowski, Mae was born November 5, 1918 in Dickson City, PA.

Survivors include her children: Lawrence Laraia of New Windsor; a daughter, Rose Vassallo and husband, Joseph of the Town of Newburgh; a brother, Norman Lewandowski of Kingsley, PA; a sister, Florence Harkenreader of Dickson City, PA; grandchildren: Laurie Schnitzler, Joseph Vassallo and a great-grandson, Jeffrey Schnitzler; and many nieces and nephews. Mae was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francisco "Sal" in 1995; brothers: Joe and Walter and sister, Ceil.

Visitation for family and friends will take place from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 3rd at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd. (Rt. 32), Newburgh. A Funeral Mass will be offered 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 4th at Sacred Heart Church, So. Robinson Ave., Newburgh, NY. Burial is to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Rt. 9W, Newburgh, NY.
