Violet Blair, of the Town of Newburgh, went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was 82.
The daughter of the late Dewey and Acelia Lauer Husson, Violet was born April 12, 1931 in Sparrowbush, NY. Violet was predeceased by her husband William C. Blair Sr. in 1996.
Violet was a member of the Leptondale Bible Church. As a young woman, Violet professed Christ as her Savior, studied her Bible, and prayed faithfully. She lived a life full of love, grace and gratitude demonstrating the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her son, William C. Blair Jr. and his wife Lynae of the Town of Newburgh, daughters: Robin L. Quackenbush and husband William of the Town of Newburgh, and Susan MacEwan of Montgomery, grandchildren: Billy, Austin, and Bryan Blair, Bethany Davis and her husband Raymond (who Violet called Tim), Annie Barnett and her husband Ted, Sarah Anderson and her husband Brandon, Melanie MacEwan, Douglas MacEwan and his wife Ashley and William MacEwan (affectionately known as Ted) and his wife Liz, and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Violet was predeceased by two brothers; Dewey and Howard, two sisters; Anna May Husson and Alice Hamilton, son-in-law, Douglas MacEwan and her granddaughter, Jeannie Ellis.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Saturday, September 7th from 4 - 6 p.m. at Leptondale Bible Church, 1771 Route 300, Newburgh, NY. A funeral service celebrating her life will commence at 6 p.m. following visitation.
A private burial will take place at Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden, NY.
