Mary Ann Murphy of Newburgh, a retired seamstress for Quattro Knits in Newburgh entered into rest Friday, September 20, 2013 at St. Luke's / Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was 87.
The daughter of the late Donato and Yolanda Gozza Casucci, Mary Ann was born November 3, 1925 in Newburgh. She was predeceased by her husband, John Murphy.
Mary Ann was a member of the Church of Saint Mary and a member of the Softball Hall of Fame.
"Mare was a tough, but the most loving and giving person to her family."
Survivors include her son, Jeff Murphy and wife, Marie; daughters: Joni Waite and husband, Charlie, Barbara Scott and husband, Dave, all of the Town of Newburgh; brother, Domonic Casucci of Virginia; sister-in-law, Louise Murphy of Walden; grandchildren: Kristopher Murphy and wife, Deanna of PA, JonPat Murphy of Beacon, Jason, Cody and Brooke Waite, all of Newburgh, Danielle Mullarkey and husband, Peter of New Windsor, Tylor, DJ and Ian Scott of Newburgh; great-grandchildren: Stefan, Bailee, Alexa, Gabriel, Jacob, Alyssa, Payton, Cole, Kelsey and Parker. In addition to her husband, Mary Ann was predeceased by a sister, Bridget "Betty" Pagnotta.
Visitation for family and friends will take place, from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, September 22nd at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd., (Rte 32), Newburgh. Funeral Mass will be offered 10 a.m., Monday, September 23rd at The Church of Saint Mary, 180 South Street, Newburgh, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor.
