Douglas Reis of New Windsor entered into rest Tuesday, December 16, 2014 unexpectedly at his home. He was 45.
The son of Arlene McMahon Dietrichsen and Lawrence Reis, Douglas was born February 10th in Newburgh during the blizzard of 1969.
Douglas was the happiest when surrounded by his loving family who were the center of his world. His greatest joy was being "Uncle Dougie". The times he spent with RJ and Bridget were filled with laughter, candy and Dougie's adamant denial of cheating during the board games they played together. The kids loved him so much.
Survivors include his mother and best friend, Arlene (Miki) Dietrichsen and husband, Donald of New Windsor, his father, Lawrence Reis and his wife, Peggy of New Windsor, his beloved sister, Deirdrea (Dee) and her husband, Rand DeSantis of Wallkill, NY, his nephew and godson, RJ DeSantis and niece, Bridget DeSantis, both the loves of his life; Godparents, Auntie Marilyn (his second Mom) and Uncle Mickey McMahon; Auntie Pat Corwin and Uncles: Mike and Danny Reis as well as the many cousins he loved so dearly. He is also survived by his step brothers; George Callahan and Don Dietrichsen, step sisters: Betty Ann Callahan, Alison Callahan, Denise Sullivan, Diane Desern, and Debbie Dietrichsen; step nieces: Megan and Emma, step nephews: Danny and Sean.

Visitation for family and friends will take place Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd., (Route 32), Newburgh, NY. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5468 Route 9W North, Newburgh, NY. Father John Vondras will officiate.
