Josephine M. McGuiness, of the Town of Newburgh, the retired owner of McGuiness Deli in Newburgh entered into rest Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the Elant Nursing Home in Newburgh. She was 94.
She was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Rosa Contarino DiMarco, Josephine was born October 4, 1920 in Italy. Josephine attended Sacred Heart Church.
Survivors include her son, James McGuiness Jr. and his wife, Patricia of New Windsor, brother, Paul DeMarco and his wife, Joan of PA; daughter-in-law, Toni McGuiness of Marlboro, eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Josephine was predeceased by her husband, James McGuiness Sr., son, John J. McGuiness and sister, Mary LaRocca.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Sunday, December 28th from 2 to 6 p.m. at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd (Route 32) Newburgh, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Monday, December 29th at Sacred Heart Church, Robinson Ave., Newburgh. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
