Elizabeth S. McLeod of the Town of Newburgh, a retired nurse for Leptondale Christian Academy entered into rest Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. Luke's/Cornwall Hospital – Newburgh Campus surrounded by her family. She was 81.
The daughter of the late Phillip and Myrtle Barr Stubbolo, Elizabeth was born October 10, 1933 in Huntington, NY.
Betty was a member of the Leptondale Bible Church and was active with Women in the Word.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 58 years, Joseph D. McLeod at home, a son, Tim McLeod and his wife, Trudy of the Town of Newburgh, daughters; Kathy McLeod of Worcester, Massachusetts and Ruth McLeod of the Town of Newburgh, sisters; Myrtle Tenney of Hawaii and Phyllis Cuchra of Texas, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Louis Stubbolo.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Leptondale Bible Church, 1771 Route 300, Newburgh. Funeral service will commence at 7 p.m. Rev. Bruce Baker and Pastor Steve Betcher will officiate. Burial will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd., Goshen, NY.
