Burton R. Barclay of the Town of Newburgh, a retired mechanic for the Broadway Buick Garage in Newburgh entered into rest Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the St. Luke's/Cornwall Hospital-Newburgh Campus. He was 88.
The son of the late Richard S. and Nora Rappleyea Barclay, he was born February 12, 1927 in Ardonia, NY.
Burton proudly served his country during WWII in the US Army.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Patton Barclay at home, daughter, Judy O'Neill and her husband, Michael J. of Rhinebeck, NY, sisters; Jeanie Fox of Rochester, NY and Frances Dowling of Denver, Colorado. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Wayne Barclay, brothers; George, Richard, Clayton and Leon Barclay, sisters; Marion Barclay and Norma Brown, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Cedar Hill Mausoleum.
