Ralph S. Griffin Jr. of the Town of Newburgh, a retired HVAC Technician for VanBuren Co. in the Town of Newburgh entered into rest Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Elant Nursing Home in Newburgh. He was 89.
Son of the late Ralph S. and Mary E. (Brewer) Griffin Sr., Ralph was born May 10, 1926 in Savilton, NY.
Ralph proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Bethlehem Rod and Gun Club, Plattekill Rod and Gun Club. Ralph was also a former member of the Newburgh Yacht Club and was a Boy Scout Master.
Survivors include his sons, David Griffin and his wife, Lynn Longendyke of the Town of Newburgh, Terry Griffin and his wife, Gloria of New Mexico, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his sister, Catherine J. Ligia.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Saturday, February 13th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd. (Rte.32) Newburgh.
A time of sharing will take place at 1 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home. Burial to follow at the Rossville Cemetery, Town of Newburgh.
