Raymond Lowell Shideler, of Newburgh, NY, passed away, Wednesday, June 22nd at
Elant at Meadow Hill after a long illness. He was 85.
Raymond was born March 12, 1931 in Bedrock, Colorado to William and Beulah
Shideler. He graduated from The United States Military Academy at West Point in
1955. He married the former Rosemarie Martino in 1955. Raymond was initially
employed by Texas Instruments. He later used his numerous engineering and
business talents as an independent businessman and contractor. He greatly enjoyed
the outdoors, boating and fishing. He took great pride in his Christian faith and fully
committed himself to studying, writing and practicing it.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie; his son Raymond and his wife,
Lee Tomas; his daughter, Nancy Dragoon and her husband, John; his daughter, Ann
Marie LaMela and her husband, Andrew; his grandchildren; Richard Shideler, Jeffrey
Miller, Tara Lim (Dragoon) and her husband, Jihyeok Lim, Matthew Miller,
Christopher Dragoon, Brandon Miller and his wife, Morganne, Jonathan Shideler and
Abigail Shideler. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
The family wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to Elant at Meadow Hill for the
compassionate and loving care they provided Raymond and his family during the
last months of his life.
A celebration of Raymond's life and his re-union with the Lord will be held at 11:00
AM, Saturday, June 25th at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 614 Station Road in
Rock Tavern, NY.
