Robert H. Wygant, a lifelong resident of Newburgh and a retired 35 year employee for GAF/Tarkett Company (Local 445 Teamsters) in Vails Gate, NY entered into rest on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was 76 years old.
Robert was the son of the late Robert A. and Mary (Greene) Wygant, he was born May 4, 1940 in Cornwall, NY. He proudly served his country in the US Army in the 1960's, Robert also was a soldier in the Salvation Army.
Robert graduated from NFA in 1960, was an avid sports fan, and especially loved the Mets, Jets, NY Rangers and the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Survivors include his cousins, Gary Ferguson and wife, Florence of Newburgh, Jim Ferguson and wife, Helen of Marlboro and Don Ferguson of Independence, Kansas, as well as many other cousins.
Memorial visitation will take place Monday, August 8th from 6 to 8 p.m.at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd. (RTE. 32), Town of Newburgh. Memorial service will commence at 7:30 p.m.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke's Hospital, Elant Nursing Home, the former Holden Home and The Salvation Army for the care and compassion they gave to Robert.
