Fred C. Wanzer of Newburgh, a retired cooler mechanic for Coca Cola Bottling Company for 38 years entered into rest Sunday, December 18, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was 82.
The son of the late Fred B. and Vera (Paquet) Wanzer, he was born September 1, 1934 in Poughkeepsie, NY.
He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the years of 1954-1958. Fred was a loving, selfless, caring man.
Fred leaves behind his children: Keith Wanzer and his wife, Monique, Fred Wanzer and his wife, Lisa and Sharlene Robinson; sister, Valerie Wanzer of Iowa; brothers: Russell Wanzer of NJ and Gordon Wanzer of Kingston, grandchildren: Rachel Robinson, Ciara Robinson, Garrett Wanzer and Amber Wanzer, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his wife, Shirley A. Wanzer in 2010.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd. (Route 32) Newburgh. Funeral service will commence following visitation with Minister Steve Sherwood officiating.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
