Nancy A. McNeil, a longtime resident of the Town of Newburgh, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 20,2018. She was 80.
Daughter of the late George and Violet (Hulse) Fairbanks, Nancy was born in Newburgh on September 14, 1937.
Nancy was a retired homemaker, who also worked at various area locations as a cashier. She lived her life in the moments. No matter what was on someone’s mind, or going on in their life, she could make them feel like it was all ok, even if only for the brief time they spoke to her. She had a way of creating a safe-haven for those she loved.
Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl McNeil Fisher and her husband Rich (Eddie) of Wallkill, Cynthia McNeil of Marlboro and Penny Hoyt and her husband, Larry Jr. of Saugerties; one sister, Estelle June Cullison of New Windsor, six grandchildren, Zack, John, Tanya, Michael, Patrick and Charles; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Nancy is pre deceased by her husband Harold McNeil, a sister Kathryn Lansbery, and a granddaughter Kari-Ann Perkowski.
A private inurnment will take place at Cedar Hill Mausoleum at a later date.
