Guy T. Gervais, of New Windsor, N.Y. the founder and retired co-owner of Middlehope Pharmacy and longtime area resident entered in rest Sunday, October 24, 2010 at home. He was 78 years old.
Guy is the wife of Alana Reese Gervais.
The son of the late Dr. A. C. and Eunice Hepworth Gervais, he was born January 13, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
He served on the Board of Cedar Hill Cemetery and on the Board of Deacons of Union Presbyterian Church. He was past president of Planned Parenthood and past president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Orange County and was a member of Union Presbyterian Church.
Guyï¿½s charitable works included the Salvation Army, The Crawford House, The Johns Home, McQuade Foundation, Marlboro Library, Amos and Sarah Holden Home, Historical Society of Hudson Highlands, Gomez House and several animal shelters.
Survivors include his beloved wife Alana at home, his sons; Gerald Gervais and his wife Jean of Milton, N.Y., Greg and his fiancee Tracy Yetter of Hawthorne, CA and David and his wife Cheryl of Wallkill, his daughter Lisa Gervais and her husband Rocque Ern of Bonny Doon, CA., his brother Dr. Robert Gervais and wife Ruth of Roswell, New Mexico and his twin sister June Krogoll and husband Randy of Bridgewater, N.J., several Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation to which family and friends are invited will be Wednesday, October 27, from 3-7 pm at Union Presbyterian Church, 44 Balmville Rd, Newburgh, N.Y.
A funeral service will be held 10 am Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Union Presbyterian Church, 44 Balmville Rd. Newburgh, N.Y. The Reverend Dave Mason will officiate.
Private entombment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Rt. 9W, Newburgh, N.Y.
